Singapore is betting big on business events—because they pay off. Under its Tourism 2040 roadmap, the country aims to triple MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism receipts.
On average, business travelers spend nearly twice as much as leisure visitors. To capture that value, Singapore is expanding capacity with Changi Airport’s upcoming Terminal 5, set to handle about 50 million more passengers when it opens in the mid‑2030s.
It’s also promoting high‑impact venues like “Gardens by the Bay” as part of its push to become the “world’s best MICE city.”
